Biography
Rob Ball has been a photographer since 1995, starting in the darkrooms
of a London news service. After spells working for news and sports agencies,
Rob joined the Metropolitan Police as a Crime Scene Photographer and
latterly a Forensic Photography Trainer. This year he has taken up a
position as Senior Lecturer in Photography at Canterbury Christ Church
University.
Since completing an MA in photography at University of the Arts in 2006,
Rob has begun to work on personal projects and commissions as a response
to the environments he finds himself in, his photographs often taking
on a 'forensic style' borne out of the years working with the Police.
This year Rob's work has been exhibited in London, New York and Whitstable.
Statement
"I moved to Whitstable from Essex in the summer of 2009. With family
in Broadstairs and an obsession with the coastline a move from the suburbs
was only a matter of time. For now I remain an outsider in my new home,
but in time I will become part of the furniture."
